I really like this song! This song just proves that Filipino artists can also make it big in the international music industry. I don’t care what other people say about Charice. I believe that she deserves everything she has right now and more. She truly has a great voice and she makes us Filipinos proud.

Who hasn’t heard of Lady Gaga’s hit single, Bad Romance? It’s all over the internet, music televisions, and radio stations. Even if you are not into music, you can’t help but hear it. Bad Romance was actually written by Gaga herself while she was touring from 2008 to 2009. According to her, this song was inspired by the paranoia that she felt while on the tour. Gaga first sang this song at Alexander McQueen’s Spring/Summer 2010 show in the Paris Fashion Week, last October 6, 2009. The song received a lot of positive reviews from critics. Like Poker Face, this song was also a huge success reaching number one on Irish Singles Chart, UK Singles Chart, Canadian Hot 100 and the German, Swedish, Danish and Austrian Charts. It also hit number two at New Zealand, Australia and the United States. Bad Romance has been nominated in ten categories at the 2010 MTC Video Music Awards. It won seven awards including Best Female Video, Best Dance Video, Best Pop Video and Video of the Year. The music video has been critiqued by a lot of people to be extremely provocative. It shows Gaga in a bathhouse being kidnapped by supermodels and sold to the Russian Mafia for sexual slavery.

Provocative is right. I for one like Gaga’s songs. I just don’t really like her – and her videos. They show explicit content and are extremely provocative. I wouldn’t want my future kids to be watching her videos. They are bordering on soft porn already. Tsk, tsk. What is happening to the world? Gaga certainly is very weird. But the good thing about it is that she is using her “weirdness” to stand out and be different. Aside from her songs, it is Gaga’s uniqueness that makes her sell.

It may be good to persevere and determinedly pursue what you want. But this song also reminds me that sometimes, you just have to know when to quit. When the pain is too much, when what you are going through does not seem to be worth it, when what you have is not worth fighting for anymore…then what is left but to just give up? I guess in life, you also have to know when to quit.

Who has not heard the song, Fifteen, by Taylor Swift? This country singer has attained so much popularity that practically everyone has already heard her sing. But what does this song stand for? According to Swift, this song tells about her best friend Abigail. When they were in high school Swift said that they knew they were never going to be popular. So they just decided to do what they wanted and have fun. Swift admitted that she cried while recorded this song. Although this was a bit uncustomary for her because she does not really cry a lot, Swift says that Fifteen reminds her of the time in 9^th grade when Abigail went through a bad break-up and got her heart broken. She still remembers feeling the pain that her best friend had to go through and this got her all emotional.

This song was the 13^th Top 40 hit on the Hot 100 from Fearless. Before this, no artist had ever achieved more than seven Top 40 hits on just one album. The song’s music video was directed by Roman White – the same guy who directed You Belong With Me. At first they thought of shooting it in a high school. But White did not want the video to get too literal. So they decided to do something different and shoot it instead in a sort of swirling mist that looked more like a surreal garden. This represented Swift’s various memories from the past.

Swift’s seemingly meteoric rise to success did not happen overnight. She actually had to face rejection after rejection from record labels before finally hitting it big with her first single, Teardrops on My Guitar. Success was not just handed to Swift on a silver platter. She had to persevere and work hard for everything that she has achieved now. I guess this goes to show that if you have a dream, do not quit. Because if you truly are passionate about what you want and work hard to achieve it, success will be yours.

This song reminds me of how wonderful it is to be in love. It’s like everything is so beautiful, you are happy all the time and you want everyone to be as happy as you. The thing is we still have to be careful or we might end up falling in love with the wrong person. 

Taylor Lautner

Taylor Daniel Lautner is an American actor who is best known in the Twilight film series for his portrayal of Jacob Black. This hot 18-year-old was born in Michican. His father Daniel Lautner, is a pilot for a commercial airline while his mother Deborah works for a company which develops software. He has a younger sister named Makena. Lautners hobbies include swimming, baseball, football, wrestling and martial arts. Out of all these, he is most involved in martial arts where he has trained in since he was six-years-old. His coach, Mike Chat, saw to it that Lautner was trained properly. And judging by the three Junior World Championship medals that he won before he turned fourteen, he was trained well. Since he began acting however, he became unable to pursue martial arts further due to lack of time. Lautner is one of the hottest teen heartthrobs of this generation. And that comes as no surprise considering the number of shirtless appearances he has made in the Twilight series.
