Classes suspended because of Typhoon Juan

I know this is supposed to be a negative thing but looking at it from a student’s point of view, the Typhoon Juan is actually a good thing. Why? No classes! The Department of Education on Sunday instructed classes to be suspended in 15 areas. Among these areas are Ilocos Norte, Batanes Islands, Apayoa, Ilocos Sur, Kalinga, Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, and Northern Aurora.
It’s a good thing I live in Mindanao. No typhoon ever passes here. It’s probably because of all the mountains and trees. School children are probably happy that there’s a typhoon coming. They get a free day. I remember when I was in grade school. I used to love it whenever it rained and my mom would tell me to stay at home to avoid getting sick. All I could think about was – yey! I can get to do whatever I want to today. No teachers, assignments or exams. Of course the next day I’d have to face the music. But at least I got a day all to myself.
