Justin Bieber was discovered in 2008 by Scooter Braun who came across Bieber’s videos on Youtube. Braun made arrangements for Bieber to meet Usher in Atlanta, Georgia and the rest is history. Bieber soon signed up for Raymond Braun Media Group (RBMG) and Braun became his manager.
It was in 2009 that his first single, “One Time” was released. It immediately rose to top 30 in over 10 countries. This was followed by the release if his album, My World, which was certified platinum in the United States. This made him the first artist to have seven songs in a debut album chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Since then, Bieber has achieved success after success. He is currently one of the top male artists in the music industry today.
While success in the music industry is neither constant nor permanent, one thing is for sure. Bieber certainly seems to be flying high today. Most people attribute this to luck. Some to chance. But I believe that success is not accidental. It has to be worked on. Success is when opportunity meets preparation. It is rarely accidental or due to luck. So like this teenage heartthrob, if you want to be successful in anything, you have to work hard at it. In life, nothing can replace hard work.
