When will the world end?

I’m sure most of us have seen the movie 2012. In that movie, the earth’s core was already so hot that it resulted in the moving of the tectonic plates -which of course brought about earthquakes and typhoons. It was not a pretty sight. I for one do not really enjoy watching end of the world movies. For some reason, it depresses me. I may not like watching movies like this but whenever I do end up watching one it gets me thinking. Is the world really going to end? When is it going to end?

According to a group of astrophysicists, the end of the world cannot be avoided. However, it can be predicted. Now I supposed that’s a good thing – I guess. But before you panic and start writing your wills, take heart. The world is not going to end yet. At least not in our lifetime. The physicists are saying that it will end in about 3.7 billion years. That’s a lot time.

Raphael Bousso, a professor in the University of California, said that nothing is still definite. But this is very likely to happen. Well he is right. I am no scientist. But when you look at history, it already happened. Remember those poor dinosaurs? It happened to them. It could happen to us. But at least it’s not going to be in my lifetime. Ha. So now, I am going to enjoy! But first, I shall eat.
